Judges in the U of T Magazine Short Story contest selected “Fanny & Keats ,” by Chris Gilmore (MA 2014), as the winner.
Judges in the U of T Magazine Poetry contest selected “Somewhere Between Me and the Desert ,” by Laura Cok (BA 2010 UTSC, MA 2011), as the winner.
Each of the winners received $1,000 and publication in the Winter 2018 issue of U of T Magazine.
Our judging panel selected “The Mathematician ,” by Michelle Boone (MEd 2000 OISE, PhD 2005), as runner-up in the story contest.
“A Mother in Six Tones ,” by Olivia Oi-Ching Or (BA 2015 Trinity), was runner-up in the poetry contest.
In online voting, readers selected “Down Feathers ,” by Linh Nguyen (BA 2017 Victoria), as their favourite.
Online voters also selected “An Open Letter to My 13-Year-Old Self ,” by Jessica Concepcion (BA 2016 Victoria), as their favourite poem.
