For the ninth consecutive year, Maclean’s magazine has ranked the University of Toronto as the top Canadian medical/doctoral university. U of T also placed first among medical/doctoral schools in three of four reputational categories: Most Innovative, Best Overall and Leaders of Tomorrow. Maclean’s calls U of T “Canada’s premier research powerhouse,” noting that the university has 3,500 faculty, 32 libraries and PhD programs in 76 disciplines. The university also houses the largest library collection of any medical/doctoral school in the country: a total of 14.271 million holdings, compared with second-place University of Alberta, which has 9.7 million.
