Mark Chan (BA 1997) graduated from New College just five years ago, but he has already put in more hours for his alumni association than many of his more senior colleagues. On Sept. 12, Chan and 99 other friends of the university received Arbor Awards in recognition of their outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of U of T. Chan is a past-president of the New College Alumni Association and recently helped produce a memories book called New College: The First Forty Years in Pictures and Words. “For me, the most rewarding aspect of producing this book is the ability to connect to others with a common history,” he says. “Our ages may be wide-ranging and our experiences diverse, but we are all patches of cloth in the New College quilt.”
