Jennifer Sylvester is an Anishinaabekwe of Pottawatomi, Chippewa and Odawa nations from the Beausoleil First Nation earning a PhD in Leadership, Higher and Adult Education OISE. She is an advocate for Indigenous social issues, particularly the equity, protection and inclusion of Indigenous women and is a single parent to her 19-year-old son.
