Compete and Prosper

Rotman creates the J. Douglas and Ruth Grant Chair in Competitiveness

The critical need for Canadian companies to compete globally led to the creation of a new $2-million endowed chair at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management. The J. Douglas and Ruth Grant Chair in Competitiveness and Prosperity, also a Canada Research Chair, will be part of the Centre for Global Competitiveness, one of the Rotman schools lead research centres. Funds from the endowment, augmented by the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program, will enable the school to attract and retain a senior scholar, who will also be part of the university’s multidisciplinary, multi-faculty study of global development, within the CRC program.

J. Douglas Grant (BA 1958 TRIN) is a former member of Governing Council and a founding partner and chair of Sceptre Investment Counsel Limited. Both he and Ruth (Nunns) Grant (BA 1963 TRIN) are longtime supporters of Trinity College.
