To strengthen Canada’s leadership position in the pulp and paper industry, a new research chair has been created at the University of Toronto’s Pulp and Paper Centre in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.
Tembec Inc., a leading Canadian integrated forest products company, will provide $1 million to fund the Frank Dottori Chair in Pulp and Paper Engineering in the department of chemical engineering and applied chemistry. Dottori is president and chief executive officer, as well as one of the co-founders of Tembec, and a 1963 graduate of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Engineering. The funds will be matched by the university to create a $2-million endowment.
