The University of Toronto has always been known for excellence – but the numbers from the past 12 years tell a story of unprecedented growth, impact and accessibility. With more than 102,000 students enrolled across three campuses, U of T has expanded its reach while strengthening its reputation as a global powerhouse in research, innovation and education. It leads the world in sustainability, dominates national and international research awards, and provides robust support for students through financial aid, experiential learning and global opportunities.

This past year, 102,431 full-time and part-time students attended U of T, up 22 per cent since 2013-14.

In 2023-24, U of T paid $3,980 in institutional scholarships and bursaries per full-time equivalent student. That’s 69% higher than the Ontario average of $2,361
Beginning in fall 2025, U of T will raise its annual minimum funding package for qualifying PhD students to $40,000 – one of the highest base funding packages in Canada

In the past five years, entrepreneurs from the U of T community have launched 941 startups, which have secured over $12 BILLION in funding and created 17,000 jobs.

Sustainability
By 2027, U of T’s St. George campus will cut annual scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46,000 tonnes – the equivalent of taking 10,000 gas cars off the road for a year.
Nearly one third of all undergraduate courses feature sustainability content.
U of T’s 14 solar arrays generate nearly 2 million kWh of electricity each year – enough to power the main University College building.

These are very impressive indications indeed regarding the quality of work at U of T. It would be useful, as well, to have information from students themselves on their experience and information on their career paths following their studies.
